Blogs and Blog Readers

Blogs and Blog Readers

Feedly.com is my favorite content reader!  I know there might be fancier RSS readers out there, but Feedly.com is free and super simple to use.  I can organize my favorite blogs and websites into easy to find folders, I can flag them to read later, and even share them on social media or email.  It’s a great way to curate the best sources that are of interest to me and keep up with their updates.
I love how Feedly lets you see if the blogs or website are active or not, how many followers they have, and how many articles they post per week/month.  I was pleased with the results I found and how user-friendly it is to follow or create content on my feed.  I love it!

Other blogs I am excited to follow:

1. https://vanmeterlibraryvoice.blogspot.com/  The Library Voice is a blog by a Teacher Librarian who loves to advocate for librarianship, creativity, and technology.  The blogger shares her expertise in libraries, education, technology, and creativity, by connecting through social media.

2. https://www.thedaringlibrarian.com/  The Daring Librarian is a blog by Gwyneth A. Jones, a Future Ready Librarian and Ed Tech Leader.  She shares technology tools used in her library as well as their impact to literature in general.  I really enjoyed the casual and less formal approach of her blog, as well as all the innovative resources and tricks she shares.

3. http://www.nikkidrobertson.com/:  The Incredible True Adventures of an EdTech Trailblazer is a blog written by Nikki.  She is a retired Librarian and Instructional Technology Facilitator.  I truly appreciate the lessons and experiments, including photographs, that she shares in her blog.

4. https://mediaspecialistsguide.blogspot.com/  A Media Specialist’s Guide to the Internet is wonderful blog with thousands of infographics, articles, resources and everything a library media specialist might need.  I love the organization of the blog and the fact that it feels like a one-stop shop.

5. https://librarianincuteshoes.blogspot.com/ Librarian in Cute Shoes is a blog written by an elementary librarian who just happens to love children’s books and writes lots of reviews about them.  I love this colorful and organized blog, because the book reviews are neatly arranged and labeled, which makes them easy to read.  The reviews are wonderfully written and provide ideas to implement technology with the books.

I love this info graphic from edutopia!  I want a copy or a poster of this, to post in my library.
